A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Dr. Anil Sood completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology through the University of Florida and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Iowa. Building upon a career as an instructor that included an Outstanding Student Teaching Award from the University of Florida, he served as an assistant professor with the University of Iowa Division of Gynecologic Oncology from 1998 to 2002. Dr. Anil Sood subsequently earned multiple honors has a professor of gynecologic oncology and reproductive medicine with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Over the past 16 years, he has served the Center in a range of educational, research, administrative, and clinical care roles.
Dr. Anil Sood holds active membership in more than a dozen organizations including the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He has also chaired the Awards Committee of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer since 2007.
